There is probably far more data on allelopathy than is shared with the public. It's really annoying to see them gate-keeping info that would help us grow gardens.

QUESTION: Thank you for this video! I had my Roma toms die on me today about bought a fairly mature totem tom plant. I have 30 litre pots. Would it be a bit mistake to transplant this gorgeous little plant into the much bigger pot? I don't want it putting all it's energy into creating roots. Many thanks!

I grow the Trinidad Scorpions for 8+ years now. They can sometimes be an unstable hybrid, or maybe they got cross pollinated, or maybe someone got a seed mixed up on you. My plants are sometimes golden or mustard colored and not so hot. The ones with the wrinkles and bumps and thorns, spikes, and horns are the hot ones. Sometimes liquid drips out when you cut them. I got a bunch of hot chocolates this year. (2024)

I love Fresno peppers, they are hard to find in my area. I've been told that the spice increases significantly as they ripen. I did not plant any Fresnos this year, but I have a plant that looks just like a Fresno from seeds that were labeled as something else. I'm ok with it, it's a happy accident.

I have them all over in my garden in my country Kenya. The good thing is that here we don't have seasons so they grow through out the year.

I wouldn't recommend planting invasive species. The birds aren't awful. They're responding to obliteration of their native habitat.

Sow, a female pig, is in the name of this plant. They used to give these plants to sows when they gave birth. Sow rhymes with cow. So isn’t the correct pronunciation sow (rhymes with cow) thistle?

I got 4 of them growing in my backyard. I let it grow. I think you use the purple flower in your tea. Ill look up some more on that when time comes.

It facilitates succession by reducing the amount of ground cover, thus allowing tree seedlings to establish. Bees, wasps, and beetles are strongly attracted to the flowers. Some bird and small mammal species eat the fruits. According to the USDA, an invasive species is non-native to the ecosystem under consideration and a species whose introduction causes or is likely to cause economic harm, environmental harm, or harm to human health. While you might find this tree to be a nuisance, it’s not invasive.

Red Wigglers will only stay in the top 6-8 inches. Regular earthworms, or Nightcrawlers, would move up and down most, if not all, of the barrel. They may die in the winter in colder climate, but the cocoons will survive the winter to repopulate that next spring.
